Puppet Show - Waltz of the Flowers

The Red Balloons have been performing a puppet show to Waltz of the Flowers! Waltz of the Flowers is a piece in the familiar ballet The Nutcracker, usually appearing around Christmas time. The video doesn't have a caterpillar, bird, or a mean cloud, but I think you're children will still love it!

Tchaikovsky was a Russian composer of the Romantic era. (May 7, 1840 - November 6, 1893). Doesn't the music and ballet just sound romantic?

Christmas Magic to our Jump Dance!

I went to the pediatrician today for Parker's 6 month well visit and discovered the doc's amazing Christmas hobby. I'm his newest fan! I especially have to share it with all my White Horses students, since the second song is our Jump Dance! aka Russian Dance by Tchiakovsky. Looking forward to the show!

Who Took the Cookie!?

We played a fun game on the last day of Red Balloons! And of course it taught us to chant to a rhythm to the steady beat of our "pat-clapping" hands! Who took the cookie from the cookie jar!

We played a little pretend as they took the cookies while my back was turned. Oh the delight!

We liked how each gingerbread boy had its own personality. Above... the dancing boy.

I hope everyone is enjoying the chilly winter weather! I'm loving drinking my hot cocoa and listening to the rain.

This Christmas we're staying in town (We're lucky enough to be in the same city as both families!) and having fun sharing some of our favorite traditions with our boy. I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2009!
