What Matters Most: talent or effort

Sometimes a child wants to give up before even trying. This could be because they only want to do the things that are easy for them or that come naturally to them. They may not want to look "dumb" while doing something hard. Realizing that mistakes and imperfection are normal and are part of a learning process is important and a great concept to understand.

If you're looking for ways to help your child realize the value of effort, you'll find this article helpful. It gives some practical advice and some phrases to use while encouraging your child to make an effort while learning a new skill.

Parent Orientation next week!

LPM starts in 2 week! Yay! I hope you've all had a wonderful summer.
Next Wednesday is the parent orientation for my 3rd years. It's at 8pm and will last about an hour. We'll be going over the best ways to make this final year tops. Best practicing strategies, how to use the new flashcards, writing their own compositions and more. You won't want to miss it!

Parent Orientation next week!

Happy First Day of School!!
My little guy went to his first day of preschool this morning! I couldn't help but feel the same excitement I used to feel on the first day of school. It was in the air! Let the FUN begin!

Let's Play Music classes are only 2 weeks away! I'm very excited to start a new year with you all! Some of you are moving on to Green Turtle Shells and will see some new friends in class...keyboards! Others of you are just beginning the exciting adventure with Red Balloons and have a lot to look forward to!

We need to get a bit more oriented before the first day to ensure a successful year. The Mandatory Parent Orientation is next Wednesday, the 18th, at 7:00 for Red Balloons and 8:00 for Green Turtle Shells. Just you, no little people yet :)

I'll see you next week!
